“Where are my f&*%ing Superstars!”
Well, Samuel L. Jackson… they’re everywhere. Last year, adidas employed the legendary actor to help headline a new campaign surrounding the adidas Superstar, and once again, they’ve tapped Jackson to spearhead the latest seasonal campaign celebrating the timeless classic.
In the new campaign video, Samuel L. Jackson is seen leaving his hotel room, but without any sneakers on his feet. On his journey throughout an endless hallway of hotel rooms straight out of The Shining, he encounters superstars from multiple generations. No, not the adidas Superstars, but rather celebrities, athletes, influencers, and musicians. Guests from the likes of JENNIE, Kendall Jenner, Lamine Yamal, Baby Keem, James Harden, Tyshawn Jones, and Olivia Dean show off their talent while decked out in adidas Originals gear, and of course, adidas Superstars.
As each of the hotel guests showcases what makes them a superstar, like Tyshawn Jones skateboarding over Sam Jackson or Baby Keem messing with a soundboard, Jackson gets closer and closer to finding his adidas Superstars. Lo and behold, they fall from the sky. “Found the motherfu&$#ers!” he exclaims.
”The campaign celebrates the next era of the Superstar through both timeless design and cultural relevance,” said Annie Barrett, Vice President of Marketing, adidas Originals. “Superstars never go away, they are timeless and iconic. This season, we continue to show the relevance of this sneaker across music, fashion, sport, and art. The new campaign pushes the bounds of reality with unexpected twists.”
There are plenty of adidas Superstar colorways available now on adidas’ website, and throughout the spring season, expect to see more renditions appear. The Three Stripes knows not to delve too far from what made the Superstar a classic, with many of the new pairs set to drop taking subtle shifts in tone and texture.
