Since 1981, Nike’s EKIN program (that’s Nike backwards, by the way) has represented the heart of the brand’s cultural appeal. A selective set of brand ambassadors and cultural curators, EKINs are Nike’s in-house influencers tasked with evangelizing a passion for the brand. With that kind of status, you know there are perks, and after five EKIN exclusive Nike drops over the years, Jordan is finally getting in on the game with its first limited edition EKIN Air Jordan 1 Low.

The Air Jordan 1 Low EKIN is limited to 200 pairs and made exclusively for Nike’s EKINs. The low-top Jordan 1 is a tri-color mix of premium leather in black, white, and orange, immediately drawing comparisons to the Shattered Backboard. The toe starts with soft black leather that extends to the lace panel and ankle collar, with white leather covering the toebox and side panels and orange leather on the heel. The side panel Swoosh is done in a weathered black leather that stands out from the rest of the soft premium leather. A backwards Nike logo is featured on the heel for an extra EKIN logo hit.

In years past, Nike has brought out exclusive colorways of the Air Force 1, Dunk, Bruin, Cortez, and Air Max 1 for its EKIN force, but this is the first in the series from Jordan Brand. In addition to being numbered to 200 on the sockliner, the EKIN Jordan 1 features E4L (EKIN 4 Life) on the tongue logo, and a special box with a skyline photo from a basketball court on the interior of the box.

The Air Jordan 1 Low EKIN won’t be released to the public, with only 200 EKINs receiving the pairs as gifts, making it one of the most exclusive Jordans to drop all year. For all the latest news on Jordan 1 Lows you can cop, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
