Some pairs of shoes were never meant for general consumption. Sometimes that means collaborations with minuscule production runs and open backdoors, PEs for athletes and celebrities, or F&F colorways made just for a select few. Other pairs, like this Galaxy green Space Jam Air Jordan 11, were planned for production but never made it.

A Sample from Space

One of the standout colorways from Jordan Brand’s massive 30th anniversary Space Jam collection, the Air Jordan 11 Retro Space Jam Galaxy Sample will remain a sample because it was too expensive to bring to production with the rest of the collection’s Jordan 11 Retro colorways. Even without a retail run, the sample still made its way to the Jordan Brand Space Jam Anniversary event in Los Angeles this week to give us all a taste of what we could’ve had.

Instead of a Jumpman badge on the ankle, the pair embosses the logo into the white leather and then adds premium fabric to the black ankle collar and heel tab. Last but not least, the outsole goes glow-in-the-dark for a spacey vibe.
