The sneaker game is still relatively new in the grand scheme of cultural phenomena, but with 40 years of Air Jordans under our belts now, the shoe obsession has now eclipsed generations, with old heads and young kids now united by decades of OGs and retros. For the Air Jordan 5, an original run in 1990 gave way to an early run of rehashed releases in the early 2000s, starting with a few colorways that have now become classic retros.

The Air Jordan 5 Retro OG White Metallic first dropped as part of the Retro+ program in 2000, a Y2K-era version of the current “Reimagined” line, adding the OG 23 embroidery to the heel and an icy blue outsole underneath a clean coat of white leather across the upper.
