Is Caitlin Clark’s Latest Kobe 6 PE Based on The Parent Trap Poster?

If you grew up in the 1990s or early 2000s, you are likely familiar with the classic 1998 children’s movie The Parent Trap starring Lindsey Lohan playing two long-lost twin sisters plotting to get their parents back together. Full of summer camp gags and mistaken identity shenanigans, the movie is one of Lohan’s best and is beloved by one of basketball’s brightest stars, Caitlin Clark, so much so that it might be the influence behind her latest PE sneaker.

The two-tone blue and yellow Caitlin Clark Nike Kobe 6 Protro PE is starting to give us serious Parent Trap poster vibes, especially considering it's one of Caitlin’s favorite movies. Channeling both versions of Lohan’s twin sisters on the 1998 poster, the yellow left shoe and blue right shoe are a perfect match for Lohan’s two outfits and the two locations on the poster.

Both of the shoes come together with a white Mamba scale print on the upper with black Swooshes and red Kobe sheath logos on the tongue. Caitlin broke out the new pair at practice over the weekend, where she has been lacing up what seems like a new Kobe PE every week since returning from injury.

We haven’t gotten official word on whether the new Caitlin Clark Nike Kobe 6 Protro PE is based on The Parent Trap, but after telling Glamour, “The other day I watched The Parent Trap, which literally never gets old, even though I know every single word in it,” over the summer, we would be surprised if the color combo was just an accident.
