CLOT and adidas add Espadrille Soles to Three Sambas for the World Cup

The World Cup is officially here. Across the globe, fans of Mexico and Korea celebrated at watch parties and kick-off events as their teams secured the first two wins of the tournament. With matches running all day for the rest of the month and into mid-July, the sneaker industry is revving up its months-long soccer hype campaign, bringing in as many collaborators as possible to take corner kicks into the worldwide tournament mayhem.

Sambas with Sandal Soles

The latest World Cup collection from adidas comes in collaboration with longtime partner CLOT, adding three pairs of Sambas to Edison Chen’s espadrille sole collection with The Three Stripes. On the new pack, Chen and the CLOT team wrap classic Sambas in the rope sole, with colorways in suede, nylon, and leather inspired by the global impact of soccer.

A black pair with a traditional suede Samba T-toe and nylon upper keeps things classic, while a pink pair switches to leather on the upper for a classy vibe. The best of the pack is the grass green colorway that reverts back to nylon on the upper, and takes the soccer theme directly to the pitch.
