In general, there are two types of camouflage fabric: those made for hunting and those made for war. While we’ve seen plenty of the hunting stuff this year from brands like Nike and Crocs teaming up with Realtree, the latest camo sneakers have been a bit more aggressive. Built for war on the basketball court, we’ve seen battle-ready camo added to the Hellstar x adidas AE 2 and now, the Converse Shai 001.
The Converse Shai 001 Camo looks like it caught the last chopper out of ‘Nam in a full coat of army-green camo mixed with brown, black, and tan. The four-color army camo print covers the entire upper, split into a few overlapping panels, which show off the texture of the zipper-front silhouette.
The outsole and the zipper itself are done in a solid army green shade, with a bit of black added to the embroidered SGA logo on the tongue. Like every color of the Shai 001, a bit of silver is added to the zipper pull. While Shai has been pretty good at previewing colorways of his new shoe himself, we still haven’t seen this one on foot.
