No matter what the reviews say, Drake still knows how to have fun and poke fun at his own celebrity. Hot off the release of his surprise triple album release, the Toronto rapper took some time to play supportive friend in a new commercial for Kevin Durant’s latest Nike signature shoe, the Nike KD 19.
“Normalize Glazing the Bros”
Sitting in a locker room, Drizzy serves as Durant’s fashion confidant for the reveal of the Slim Reaper’s new shoe, which is dropping with its own five-pack of NOCTA collabs this summer. After pulling an Air Force 1 cowboy boot and white fur-covered yeti shoe from a school play, Durant quickly realizes that Drake is nothing more than a Yes Man, ready to stroke his ego no matter what the shoe looks like. Alongside the commercial posted to Drake’s page, the Iceman rapper takes the theme as far as possible, adding “normalize glazing the bros” in the caption.
When Durant finally reveals the actual KD 19 in a candy-colored monochrome blue, Drake’s reaction doesn’t waver, giving him as much hype as he possibly can while Durant glares back. It’s a funny spot, and one again proves that no matter how bad the music may be or how corny he comes off, Drake is still much funnier than most of our current rappers and celebrities. Gotta be all that acting training on Degrassi.
