We’re entering the second half of the 2025-26 NBA season as teams and players across the league are coming back to reality following the NBA All-Star break. For Milwaukee, a team that only five years ago was able to hoist up the Larry O’Brien, they’re fighting for a play-in spot as they sit 11th in the Eastern Conference. Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has done his part, but still, the team is well under .500 with a 24-31 record. However, bad standings and pressure on his back aren’t stopping Giannis from giving the world a first glimpse at his latest sneaker with Nike, the Nike Giannis Freak 8.
Spotted in an Instagram photo dump featuring Giannis and his Bucks teammates practicing, the Freak 8 is the latest silhouette to come from Antetokounmpo’s signature sneaker line with Nike. The model’s design language goes away from the Greek sandal inspiration of the Freak 7 to something more contemporary, though the sneaker still incorporates wavy molded patterns.
The upper appears to be a fused textile for a reinforced, strong build, while Giannis’ signature branding is reserved for the tongue and heel tab. Of course, a Nike Swoosh jets across the midfoot, with the medial side going full Travis Scott and getting reversed. As for tech specs, we do know that Freak 8 will continue to use Cushlon foam, though exactly how it's set up and what other technology is used is a mystery at this time.
The Nike Giannis Freak 8 will debut in the Fall 2026 season (July-September) via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $115.
