With a name like Hidden NY, we should never be surprised when the brand has something tucked up its sleeve. After debuting the brand’s latest Asics collab, the early computer art-themed Hidden NY x Asics Gel-Kinetic 2.0, the internet archive page-turned sneaker industry collaborator is getting set to launch the pair in Tokyo, Japan. But before the pair sells out, Hidden hit us with a second, even more exclusive colorway from the collection.
Computer-Generated Collab Heat
The Hidden NY x Asics Gel-Kinetic 2.0 V2 takes the original collab design and turns it greyscale, adding even more early computer art themes to the collab. On the V2 pair, the computer-generated grey side panel stripe logo extends to the heel of the shoe and the tongue, replacing the OG pair’s Hidden green accents. Instead of an icy blue outsole, the second pair goes creamy off-white underfoot, just like an early-era desktop computer.
“The palette pulls from the soft grey and brown tones of early Macintosh hardware, translating the color of that era into the shoe’s mesh, overlays, sole unit, and custom packaging,” Hidden wrote about the second colorway. Limited to just 200 pairs, the special packaging on the grey pair really brings it together, coming in a thick metal case with “Hidden Software” branding like it's the nuclear football.
