On October 20, 1999, the very first episode of One Piece aired as part of the East Blue saga. On December 28, 2025, the final episode of the Egghead Arc aired to conclude season one. For reasons that we can only speculate are an elaborate gag by the creators of the show, all 1,155 episodes of the show are being reclassified as one complete season while they take an extended break to refocus and drop new episodes in a more traditional anime season format. Good to know that finally somebody told them that it’s ok to take a break.

Unlike the show, One Piece has been a little more careful and judicious when it comes to dropping sneaker collaborations. As brands have started to tap more into the world of anime thanks to fan demand and people with influence at these places now employing fans who grew up watching the shows and reading the manga, One Piece has become a valuable property to work with. With nearly 1,200 episodes, 111 volumes of the manga, and 15 movies that are typically non-canon but also have moments that become canon, there is so much material to transform into sneakers or clogs in the case of Crocs.

With One Piece now spanning generations of fans, the sneakers have also become more accessible to both kids and adults who were kids when the show started. With 2026 shaping up to be a big year for property with the debut of the second season of the live-action Netflix show, the “second season” of the anime, and collabs with Nike and Crocs, here’s a look back the One Piece’s footwear collaborations so far.

Converse x One Piece (2017)

In 2017, Converse Japan - which is not to be confused with the Converse that is owned by Nike - celebrated the iconic Chuck Taylor’s 100th anniversary with a variety of special edition releases and collaborations with equally iconic Japanese brands and pop culture institutions like One Piece. The All-Star 100 is a step above your typical Chuck Taylor as they feature improved comfort, quality, and React insoles. Arriving in full-color and manga-appropriate colorways, the sneaker featured an all-over print of the Straw Hat Pirates.

While most of the coverage was dedicated to the Straw Hat Pirates pair, Converse Japan also released an Ox Low dedicated to Trafalgar Law. The chaotically good (or neutral depending on what section of the fandom you lie in) doctor’s famous spotted hat is featured on the sneaker’s tongue, although a non-fan of the series would probably assume it’s a cow print. Law is also featured via a graphic on the insoles and the Heart Pirates emblem on the heel.

One Piece x LEAD (2019)

LEAD x One Piece

Japanese sneaker brand LEAD released One Piece-themed sneakers featuring six of the series' most popular characters, from Luffy to Nami to Sanji. Each box was also a piece of a puzzle that, when lined up, formed a larger image of the Going Merry ship. What’s interesting about the sneakers is that their design is a little too close to the Converse Chuck Taylor for them to release stateside.

One Piece x Puma (2019, 2024)

PUMA x One Piece (2019)

Throughout the second half of 2019, Puma Japan celebrated the release of the One Piece: Stampede movie with a trio of region-exclusive Cell sneakers highlighting key characters and moments from the franchise.

The Cell Endura was first up with an homage to the Thousand Sunny ship, which is the Straw Hat Pirates’ second ship after the Going Merry was destroyed during the Enies Lobby Arc. Next up was the Cell Venom in white with gold chains wrapped around the sneaker as a nod to Gild Tesoro, the main villain in 2016’s One Piece Film: Gold.

Finally, the Puma LQD Cell is more of a tribute to the series as a whole, with Luffy’s pirate flag design serving as the shape of the overlay with reflective elements that highlight the duality of good and evil.

One Piece and Puma would team up again in 2024 with a four-pack of Suedes that represent each of the Pirate Emperors in the world: Gear 5 Luffy, Shanks, Blackbeard (aka Marshall D. Teach), and Buggy. Unlike previous collaborations with unmistakable and overt references to Luffy and the crew, the Suedes are a little more subtle with their uniquely shaped formstrips and embossed graphics, including the blue formstrip on Buggy’s pair that matches their hair or the three-headed skull on the tongue tag of Blackbeard’s pair.

Gucci x One Piece Lookbook (2020)

Gucci x One Piece Lookbook (2020)

For an issue of ELLEMEN in China, Gucci and One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda teamed up to create an editorial for the brand’s “Fake/Not” collection during the Fall/Winter 2020 season. People might remember that collection for the various Gucci items that had the word “FAKE” plastered on them in loud yellow lettering. Featuring Luffy and Roronoa Zoro wearing all Gucci everything, they were also rocking various Gucci sneakers and loafers. Unfortunately, none of the sneakers made their way to retail with One Piece branding, so this will have to remain a “what if?” for fans until Gucci decides to revisit their dalliances with anime.

Vans x One Piece (2022)

One Piece x Vans

You can be forgiven for thinking that Vans has been dropping One Piece collaborations for what seems like decades now. But just like those Converse Chuck Taylors you see on Etsy or other artist-focused shops, those are customs that occasionally look good enough to be a retail release. The first official Vans and One Piece collaboration actually dropped in 2022 and featured the Straw Hat Pirates across five different silhouettes in a full family sizing. The Sk8 Hi recalls the Punk Hazard Arc, Luffy’s straw hat transforms the Authentic into something a little more relaxed, while the Devil Fruits are prominently featured on the Old Skool. Nico Robin and Nami grab the spotlight with a purple Skate Old Skool and an orange Skate Sk8 Hi pair dedicated to them, respectively.

One Piece x Crocs (2025, 2026)

atmos x One Piece x Crocs (2025)

For years, Crocs has secured the biggest anime licenses for their popular clogs. From Dragon Ball to Demon Slayer to Jujutsu Kaisen, they routinely bring in the most recognizable franchises, except for One Piece. That streak broke in 2025 when atmos teamed up with Crocs on an exclusive pair that dropped during atmosCon featuring Luffy’s Gear 5 transformation.

With season 2 of One Piece on Netflix set to debut, Crocs is dropping a four-pack of Classic Clogs that pay homage to Gucci spokespeople Luffy and Roronoa Zoro, fan favorite Tony Tony Chopper, and the Thousand Sunny ship. Check out where you can buy the Clogs here.

One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus Devil Fruit (2026)

In Fall 2026, Nike joins the party with their own One Piece collaboration based on the show’s Devil Fruits, which, when consumed, grant the individual a unique power at the expense of their ability to swim. The Nike Air Max Plus will reportedly do the honors with three unique colorways depicting the Gomu Gomu no Mi fruit that was eaten by Luffy, the Mera Mera no Mi taken by Portgas D. Ace and then Sabo, and the Ope Ope no Mi that was consumed (against their will) by Trafalgar D. Water Law.
