J. Cole is Finally Dropping His Dreamer Indie 5000 Sneaker This Week

It’s a Cole world, and we’re just living in it. Whether you’re a fan of the North Carolina rapper or not, you’re likely familiar with J. Cole’s independent approach to music, business, and now, sneakers. After previewing his own independent sneaker silhouette over the past seven months, the basketball-obsessed rapper is finally ready to drop his own kicks this week.

The J Cole Dreamer Indie 5000 has been in the works for the past five years, shortly after the release of his last Puma collab. Bringing the same independent vibes to his fashion that he does to his music, the Indie 5000 even puts indie in the name. The retro basketball silhouette is debuting in a white leather colorway with zig-zag blue accent panels that remind us of a Reebok Pump from Cole’s childhood.

In an Instagram post announcing the drop, Cole made sure to bring focus to the self-made aspect of the new endeavor. “5 years in the making,” Cole wrote. “Took my time to make sure I did it right. Designed, developed and manufactured independently. INDIE 5000 available tomorrow in Fayetteville, NC.”
