Jalen Brunson’s Latest Nike Kobe 4 Protro Honors His High School State Championship

If there’s anyone who should be in line for a Nike signature sneaker, it’s Jalen Brunson. The New York Knicks star has been on a tear since his move to NY, but we know the man is a fan of Nike Kobe sneakers above all else. So much so that it’s been reported Brunson would rather continue to receive Nike Kobe PEs than get his own signature sneaker line. That rings true once again as Brunson has just shared images of a Nike Kobe 4 Protro PE.
Taking inspiration from the Illinois state title he won his senior year at Adlai E. Stevenson High School, Brunson applies the school’s color palette of green, yellow, and white to Bryant’s fourth signature model. White leather is used on the mudguard and toebox, with more white found on the mesh tongue, Flywire midfoot, and mesh sockliner. Green hues envelope the Swoosh, which is outlined in yellow to match the heel counter. Final details include a “‘15 State Champs” patch on the inside of the tongue and a white, yellow, and green midsole and outsole.
Since taking off as one of the league's best guards, Brunson has shown out with a variety of Nike Kobe PEs. Last year, he honored his NCAA championship with Villanova on a black, blue, and gold Kobe 4 Protro and followed up with a Joker-themed Kobe 5 after returning from injury. Later, he would be spotted in the Nike Kobe 5 Protro WTR PE, a Sunrise Kobe 6, an orange Kobe 3 Low, and the Statue of Liberty Kobe 6. The latter of these ended up releasing to the public, giving us hope that we’ll see one of these PEs (or another pair in the future) hit retail shelves.
The Jalen Brunson Nike Kobe 4 Protro State Champs PE will remain exclusive to Brunson.
