There’s been enough gold going around that even Mansa Musa would be jealous. At the start of every NBA season, last year’s champions host a ring ceremony for their home opener, and the New York Knicks have a primetime game against LeBron and the 76ers to tackle after their festivities wrap up. Of course, that means players will attempt to step up their game against one of the greatest to ever do it, but they will also be stepping up their sneaker game. Alongside OG Anunoby, who will take the court pre-game in a pair of Skechers SKX Nexus PEs in white and gold, Jalen Brunson looks to be busting out some all-gold Kobe 6s for the monumental evening.
Jalen Brunson’s Nike Kobe 6 Protro Gold PE Details
Previewed by NBA veteran and arguably the greatest sneakerhead to make it to the league, PJ Tucker posted the gold Kobe 6s for Brunson on his Instagram story. The pair features an all-over gold finish, with metallic sheen on the raised faux reptile skin pattern and a more matte look on the base layer. More metallic gold shines on the Swoosh, heel tab, and parts of the sole unit, while the pair jumps back to matte gold on the laces, tongue, and sockliner. Only one detail is not cast in gold: the metallic silver heel counter.
Brunson, who at this point could very well be in line for a Nike signature model, has reportedly chosen to remain a torchbearer for the Nike Kobe line, and his PE pairs continue to pile up. Today, Foot Locker and Nike teamed up to drop his Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro Arancia PE, which he debuted last season, ahead of the planned release in 2026. There’s also a release for the What The Rick Kobe 5 slated for next year, and we expect to see more from Brunson and the Kobe line as we go through the 2026-27 season.
Is Jalen Brunson’s Nike Kobe 6 Protro Gold PE Releasing?
Unfortunately for Knicks and Jalen Brunson fans, the Nike Kobe 6 Protro Jalen Brunson Gold PE has no release info at this time. That could change, as we’ve seen previous player-exclusive kicks for Brunson eventually make their way to retail.
