A year after the most shocking trade in NBA history, Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers are a match made in basketball heaven. Alongside LeBron James, Luka has the Lakeshow sitting at the 5th seed in the extremely contentious Western Conference.
As the NBA’s current scoring leader—averaging nearly 33 points a game and one of the league’s most elite passers dishing out almost 9 a night—Doncic is firmly at the top of the MVP ladder. While many may attribute it to the Slovenian’s renewed focus on his health, Mars Blackmon would say, “It’s gotta be the shoes, money.”
Though Luka may not have had the chance to lace up the monochromatic red colorway of the Luka 5 for All-Star Weekend, The Matador has plenty coming up, including a version perfect for his new squad.
Luka’s fifth model with Jordan Brand is getting a Lakers-inspired coloration just in time for the NBA’s stretch run. The Jordan Luka 5 Lakers features a mesh and leather upper dressed in a trio of purple shades. At the toe and tongue are a standard shade of Lakers’ purple, while the upper half of the sneakers comes in a medium shade.
The white TPU frame and midsole break up the monochrome look, while the leather side panels and mesh base underneath feature even lighter shades of purple. Other details include a semi-translucent outsole and slight hints of gold that appear on the Jumpman logo on the lateral side, the inner tongue, and the outsole, completing the Lakers look.
