Baseball is in the midst of its All-Star break, which so far has resulted in a slug fest at the Home Run Derby and news of Munetaka Murakami signing an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand. After the All-Star Game tonight, there will be more festivities going into the weekend, though not in Philadelphia. Up in NYC, the Yankees will be hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers for a three-game series, and KAWS has teamed up with MLB to celebrate
KAWS x MLB NY Yankees and LA Dodgers Apparel
KAWS’ iconic “XX” design is plastered across jerseys, jackets, T-shirts, fitteds, and snapback hats, all of which contain iconography you’d typically see for LA Dodgers or NY Yankees gear. Both teams’ logos combine with the “XX” from KAWS, with some of the items featuring Ohtani and Judge branding. In addition to the clothing items, KAWS has brought his Companion character to a series of Rawlings baseballs and Marucci bats.
KAWS x MLB Topps Trading Cards
A limited run of Topps cards in collaboration with KAWS will also be released, though these are not limited to just Yankees or Dodgers players. Previewed cards include Elly De La Cruz, Paul Skenes, Mookie Betts, Aaron Judge, Cam Schlitter, Konnor Griffin, and, of course, Shohei Ohtani. Special parallel editions and a rare KAWS autograph card will be included in select packs. There’s also a chance to pull autos from MLB stars like Aaron Judge.
KAWS x MLB LA vs NY and Topps Cards Release Info
The KAWS x MLB collection will be released in person at Fanatics Fest in NYC, which takes place July 16-19. An online release via Complex, Fanatics, Nike, and MLB will take place on July 20, with in-store opportunities at the MLB Flagship in NYC.
