Copenhagen-based mfpen is moving its latest work trip from the US to the UK. After previewing a pair of New Balance 992 Made in USA at the beginning of August, the fashion label is continuing its 10-year anniversary with another New Balance collab, this time taking a trip to the brand’s Flimby factory with a Made in UK 991v1.
A Preview With No Pair
The mfpen x New Balance 991v1 Made in UK popped up on Instagram this week, but only in text, with no images of the colorway available quite yet. In the preview, mfpen posted a stylized “N” logo in classic silvery grey that looks like it was stamped out of steel.
In the caption of the post, mfpen didn’t describe the colorway, but did note that the pair is “made from surplus leather,” giving us not only an idea of the material, but a sense of the brand’s sense of environmental responsibility. On the 992 Made in USA, the CPH brand mixed grey and blue for a subtle mix, and judging by the silvery grey preview, we aren’t expecting anything too outlandish for the 991v1.
