The Michael Jackson biopic Michael has brought the King of Pop back to the collective consciousness (though he never truly left). The film has grossed over $700 million worldwide, and thanks to the movie, people are streaming MJ’s music again and buying his albums, putting Thriller back into the Billboard 200. And that obviously got us thinking here at Sole Retriever about Michael Jackson’s sneaker moments. Though they may not run as deep as the other MJ, Sunset Sneakers has just provided a first look at a wild 1-of-1 Air Jordan 4 Glitter Glove sample.
Michael Jackson Air Jordan 4 Glitter Glove Sample Details
We’ve seen the Air Jordan 4 coated in metallic silver in the past, including a special pair for Usher to wear at Super Bowl LVIII, but this sample turns things up to a level that only Michael Jackson could match. Unlike Swarovski-covered sneakers, which place large crystals to create a shimmering effect, this pair shines brighter thanks to the glitter applied on all of the silver panels, mimicking the look of Michael Jackson’s famous glove.
Inside, the upside-down Air Jordan tag is done in a rainbow finish, while the other panels on the upper, including the wings, tongue tag, and heel tab, are coated in a chrome metallic silver. Down below sits a white and silver midsole with a translucent grey outsole.
Michael Jackson’s Sneaker History
Though Michael Jackson never had an official Air Jordan collab, he tapped Michael Jordan to star in the music video for “Jam” off his album Dangerous in April 1992. In the video, Jordan is seen wearing the Air Jordan 7, while Jackson sticks to his favorite loafers.
We covered Michael Jackson’s sneakers extensively just last month, including his LA Gear shoe, but two weeks ago, we stumbled upon an ultra-rare Michael Jackson Puma shoe. The pair was created in 1987 as a giveaway for his Bad tour, and today the Puma archives houses two pairs.

Unfortunately, MJ fans will not have a chance to own this pair at retail unless they can put up an offer for the supposed 1-of-1 shoe. Check below for images of the pair, and download the Sole Retriever mobile app for real-time updates on the latest happenings in the sneaker world.
