The team at New Balance has always been good at keeping customers on their toes. The dad shoe OGs have found a way to make suede and mesh endlessly endearing, combining soft leather paneling and breathable bases with varying stabilization designs differentiating them. On its latest silhouette, New Balance is combining two of its most popular recent models for a new take on a classic look.
A New Math Equation for Your Feet
The New Balance 1954 is the latest numbered silhouette out of the Boston-based brand, taking its name from the addition of the 2002R and the 1906, then divided in half. The resulting 1954 puts a 1906-inspired upper on top of a 2002-style sole with an added boost of ABZORB in the forefoot.

Debuting in three colorways: Sea Salt, Slate Grey, and Black, the model keeps things neutral to start, drawing attention to the brand-new silhouette instead of a wild color mix. The curved side panels accentuate the N logo in the middle of the shoe, with premium wide mesh between the swooping strips of suede.
