New Balance 990v4 Made in USA Maryland Blue Crab Pack

Get the Old Bay and lay out the old newspaper, it’s blue crab season. If you’ve spent any time in Maryland, you know that April is the start of blue crab season in The Old Line State, and if there’s one thing Marylanders take seriously, it’s crabs. After knocking it out of the park with a DC vs. Baltimore 993 pack earlier this year, New Balance is back with another set of colorways for Maryland.

Posted by Columbia, Maryland’s own New Balance designer Myles Williams, who was also the force behind the DC vs. Baltimore pack, the Blue Crab collection features two pairs of New Balance 990v4s, one designed like a fresh caught blue crab, and the other like a steamed, seasoned, and ready to eat crab.

Both pairs start with the same two-tone grey suede shell on the toe and support structure, with the mesh switching from Cloud Blue on the fresh pair to Tangerine Heat on the steamed pair, showing the color change that happens in a boiling pot. The theme continues with blue added to the midsole of the fresh pair and more red added on the bottom of the steamed colorway.
