Nike ACG is starting over. But with so much history behind the brand, the revitalized All Conditions Gear department is hitting the trail from scratch. After relaunching Nike’s outdoor focus with a trail-ready version of the Ultrafly and an updated Zegama made for distance hikes, the latest ACG drop returns to where it all began with a freshly retooled Nike ACG LDV.
The Nike LDV was a 1970s silhouette made for road running, but when American mountaineers Rick Ridgeway and John Roskelley climbed K2 in the shoes in 1978, Nike knew they had something on their hands. That LDV trek inspired the creation of the ACG division, and nearly 50 years later, the model is once again finding its way to the mountain top.
