Few sneakers immediately grab attention on the street like the Nike Air Bakin. Sure, sneakerheads might recognize your limited Jordan retros or that pair of collab Asics, but if we’re talking about compliments on the street from complete strangers who don’t know the difference between Dunks and Forces? The Bakin’s got it.

Heat for Your Feet

Originally released in 1997, the Nike Air Bakin’s iconic OG red, black, and yellow colorway is a scalding hot stove for your feet. After the ‘97 drop, Nike released retro pairs in 2007 and 2014, but after some controversial translation of the pair’s flame script on the heel, the retro pairs have all replaced it with a standard Nike Air logo.

The new retro is no different, keeping everything OG except the heel logo. Starting with a black base, the wavy red side panels look like a mix between frying bacon strips and the red-hot coils of an electric stove. Suffice to say, this pair will burn ya. Yellow laces match the toeside Swoosh to complete the look for even more heat.
