Nike Kobe Air Force 1 Low Protro Lord of the Rings

When Steph Curry showed up in a pair of Nike Kobe 6 Protro Mambacitas in his first game after leaving Under Armour, the entire sneaker world immediately broke their necks. Back in 2002, the Mamba himself was going through a sneaker sponsor shift, and just a couple of months after leaving adidas, Kobe showed up at Rucker Park in NYC for a streetball tournament wearing a gifted pair of white and orange Air Force 1 Mid to match his team’s orange jerseys.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low Protro Kobe Bryant Lord of the Rings is a tribute to that first pair of Forces that Bryant wore after leaving his adidas deal, named after the nickname given to him by iconic Rucker Park emcee Hannibal. As Nike continues to add Kobe sheaths and Mamba scales to Air Force 1s, The Swoosh is bringing back the colorway in low-top Protro form just in time for streetball season.

A Kobe sheath logo brings more orange to the lateral heel, with an NYC logo like recent Knicks-themed Forces featuring another sheath logo in the middle on the tongue tag and heel. Of course, as this is a Protro release, the shoe will come with extra comfort in the form of a drop-in ReactX midsole.

The Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low Protro Lord of the Rings will be released Fall 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and GS sizing, the retail price is set at $155 and $105, respectively.
