There are more running shoes on the market than ever before. From major brands like adidas and Nike to niche old-school names like Brooks and new players in the game like Mount to Coast and Altra, everyone is getting in on the race day hype. Beyond the boutique and streetwear collabs, though, the name of the game is speed, and from its founding to now, it’s hard to get faster than The Swoosh.
The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% 4 is the latest technical performance wonder from Beaverton. Building on its NEXT% line, the latest Alphafly continues its theme of massive midsole stacks and tough Flyknit uppers, with a massive Swoosh striking across the lateral side panel onto the toebox, and an Alphafly 4 logo on the tongue.

We first saw the shoe in marathon samples this spring, and now, we’ve got our first retail-ready look at a pair in a mix of Seaglass and Ash with Laser Crimson details. Stacking off-white shades on the midsole and upper, the Swoosh switches to blackish grey, with red details on the tongue logo and front section of the midsole.
The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% 4 Proto will be released Holiday 2026, through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $280. To keep up with all the latest Nike Running news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
