You might be getting flashbacks to 2021 when you see Nike’s latest hats. No, these didn’t drop years back, but Ye (fka Kanye West) released his Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga line at that time, which included a flame cap that went absolutely viral. In reality, he technically ripped the design from another brand and was not the first person to put flames on a hat, but he helped popularize the style. Nike took a few years to bring back their own flame graphics from the archives, doing so earlier in 2025. Now, just in time for Christmas, Nike is releasing new versions of the flame caps.
Available in three colorways, red with orange flames, black with white and silver flames, and midnight navy with orange and white flames, the caps pull their flame design from Nike’s early 2000s archives. More specifically, the Air Streak Spectrum Plus from 2002 featured very similar flame designs on the mesh base, which later inspired Nike to incorporate this design into the 2025 Ekiden Pack.
