The Nike Ja 3 has been on a hot streak despite Ja Morant’s lack of availability on the court. The Ja 3 has seen a shining Swarovski crystal remix to emulate the dynamic point guard’s iced-out grill. That grill theming carried over to the Nike Ja 3 from the Warning Label collection Nike launched for All-Star Weekend, with a fanged lace charm to pair with the lenticular molded upper. Recently, Morant has been sidelined with a sprained UCL in his elbow, preventing him from debuting an array of colors on the court.
After showcasing a pair of colorways on Instagram just days ago, the Memphis Grizzlies point guard is back with a new leak, this time the third iteration of his Ja Raffe colorway. The colorway takes inspiration from the giraffe born at the Memphis Zoo during Morant’s sophomore season in 2020.
Ja Raffe no longer resides in the Bluff City, as he was moved to Utah in 2022 (though this has recently become the second biggest trade from Memphis to Utah), but Nike and Morant are still honoring their spotted friend.
The silhouette features a tan base with dark brown giraffe spots overtaking the mesh upper. The sneaker’s usual claw scratch motif formed by its textured Ja logos that extend from the midsole are muted by the giraffe print but still peeks through, particularly on the tan A formed by the negative space. A metallic pink Swoosh outlined by bronze cuts into the midsole to form a J completes the look.
A release date and price for the Nike Ja 3 Ja Raffe has yet to be confirmed, but Morant has plenty of heat in the pipeline, including a handful of Jurassic Park colorways and a pearlescent Air Force 1. For all the Nike Ja news and more, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
