Kobe’s Protro methodology (performance retro for those unaware) has extended across his signature sneaker series and now into the realm of lifestyle with the Nike Air Force 1 Low Protro. Now, Nike has plans to drop plenty of different colorways of this upgraded version of Bruce Kilgore’s low-top basketball sneaker, including the Black Lemon Venom and Work Blue renditions. But there are also plans to hop to a new silhouette in 2026 with a Protro Dunk Low. One of the first releases for this updated Dunk is a two-pack of colors inspired by Bryant’s high school, Lower Merion Heights.

Nike and Kobe Bryant have long highlighted the Philadelphia high school through previous Nike Kobe sneakers, like the Kobe 5 (which is coming back in 2026), Kobe 6, Kobe 7 System, and Kobe 11. As for the tribute to the Lower Merion Aces, a Home and an Away colorway have been crafted, one featuring team red accented by white and the other inverting the hues.

Both pairs are done with Protro upgrades, featuring a drop-in ReactX insole and a performance-inspired tongue construction for added comfort. Alongside these technical details, the actual look of the shoe is slightly altered. Kobe branding is added to the outsole in the form of his name in the center, his sheath logo on the traction of the heel, and the star traction on the toe swapped for mini sheath logos. There's also his high school jersey found on the lateral heel and the forefoot traction on the outsole mimicking the look of a snake.

The Nike Kobe Dunk Low Protro Lower Merion Pack will release in March 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. The Away colorway is slated to drop via Nike SNKRS Reserve on March 23, while the Home colorway will drop first at Lapstone & Hammer in Philly on March 21. An online drop via Lapstone will take place on March 23. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $135.
