Nike’s Vaporposite Pro PE Cleat Collection Heads to Austin for a Texas Longhorns Colorway

College football season kicked off with a bang this week, and in Texas, where football is life from pee-wee to the pros, Archie Manning and the University of Texas Longhorns beat the brakes off the Texas State Bobcats. The rest of the season won’t be a cakewalk, though, with the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes heading into Austin this weekend.

A Texas Toast

Ahead of Saturday’s heavyweight match-up, the Longhorns opened up a shipment from Nike to a new pack of PEs for the game. The latest team to join Beaverton’s Vaporposite Pro PE cleat collection, the Texas pairs arrived on the squad’s Instagram page following previews of PE colorways for LSU, Clemson, and FSU.

On the Texas colorway, Nike starts with a thick armored coat of white on the toe and wavy Foamposite-style side panels. The rest of the upper switches to classic Texas burnt orange on the lace panel, tongue, and ankle collar. The cleats underfoot add a pearlescent shine, with more burnt orange to match the Texas logo on the tongue.
