BY GAWD, is that Eric Avar’s music!? The pinnacle of 2000s basketball, the Nike Zoom Hyperflight, designed by one of Nike’s greatest designers, is pulling another classic shade out of the archive.

The forward-thinking model continues to inspire sneaker lines to this day, with the Nike GT Future and the KD 19 borrowing elements from the Nike Zoom Hyperflight. The famed sneaker returned earlier this year in Jason Williams’ Sacramento Kings PE, and now the OG Varsity Red colorway is set to follow. After earlier reporting of its return for the 25th anniversary, official images of the iconic kicks have arrived.

Nike Zoom Hyperflight Varsity Red Details

The silhouette gets dressed primarily in Varsity Red, with the crimson color dominating the glossy upper. The lateral side features a smooth look enhanced by the glossy texture, while the medial midfoot side is perforated for breathability on the court. Black accents on the collar, stability shank, and outsole add structure while also breaking up the monochromatic aesthetic. Pops of white on the mini Swoosh near the lateral toe and midsole add even more visual callouts to the sneaker. A clear tab on the vamp and FLIGHT branding on the heel tab wrap up this returning icon.

The Nike Hyperflight Varsity Red will be released in Fall 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
