A Swarm of Killer Bees
The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 Retro High Yellow Look See Sample from 2018 is the latest pair to surface from Abloh’s iconic Air Jordan 1 Retro High collection. The Wu-Tang and Bruce Lee-reminiscent colorway is covered in a two-tone mix of honeybee yellow and black, with ripstop on the panels and a black stabilizer stretching up over the heel.
Starting with black leather on the toe, lace panel, and an additional strip moving horizontally across the heel, yellow ripstop pops on the toebox to match the black ripstop side panels. The heel features two more yellow fabrics, with leather on the ankle and a tough weave at the heel. More yellow is added to the stitched-on Swoosh and the outsole, with white on the midsole and AIR in quotes on the lateral heel. Virgil’s iconic medial text in Helvetica is stamped in black to blend in with the leather panels.
