Nike Just Dropped Ronaldinho’s 2005/06 FC Barcelona Throwback Jersey

World Cup fever is reaching a boiling point, with every sportswear brand unveiling its latest international kits for the upcoming tournament. While the focus has primarily been on the various federations around the globe who will compete this summer, there’s still plenty of room for club-level soccer to get the recognition it so rightfully deserves. As FC Barcelona sits second on the La Liga table, Nike has just reissued a classic jersey: Ronaldinho’s 2005/2006 FC Barcelona home kit.

The reissue of the 2005/2006 FC Barcelona home jersey with Ronaldinho’s name is done in a 1:1 fashion, coming identical to the kit that the Brazilian football legend wore in the mid-2000s. Vertical stripes of red and blue work across the design, with a yellow Swoosh on the right side of the chest and FC Barcelona’s crest on the left. Moving to the back, Ronaldinho’s name is plastered in yellow just above his number 10.

FC Barcelona had a stellar campaign during the 2005/06 season. The club retained the La Liga title after winning the league the year prior, hoisted the UEFA Champions League trophy after defeating Arsenal 2-1 in the finals, and won the Supercopa de España. At the end of the season, two members of the team made the 2005-06 FIFPRO World 11, Ronaldinho and Eto’o, and Ronaldinho also won FIFA World Player of the Year.
