Sabrina Ionescu is Going on a Nike Tour to China Before the WNBA Season

The WNBA narrowly avoided a delayed start to the upcoming 2026 season, and the women of the league will be heading into the new campaign with a fresh CBA guaranteeing more money across the board. With the regular season still on track for its original May 8, 2026 start date, training camps start soon, and players are gearing up to get back to work. For Sabrina Ionescu, though, there’s always time for a China trip.

In a new commercial from Nike featuring a custom Sabrina “S” logo mahjong set, The Swoosh announced a three-day tour of Beijing and Changsha featuring one of its biggest women’s basketball stars. Ionescu’s Nike Sabrina 3 has been one of the biggest shoes across every level of basketball since its debut last summer, and like so many stateside hoopers, she’s a phenomenon in China.

Beyond the Sabrina 3, we are expecting Nike to drop the Sabrina 4 in the coming months, and while we likely won’t see it on this China trip, Nike is definitely focused on keeping Sabrina at the top of mind.
