If any shoe brand has won the first half of the current decade, it's gotta be Salomon. The outdoor staple turned niche gorpcore favorite brand has taken on a new life in the mainstream over the past five or six years, adding new silhouettes, reviving classics, and tapping some of the industry’s best brands for collaboration.

The latest new model added to the Salomon catalog is a summer-ready remix of one of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes. The Salomon ACS Pro Shell starts with the same mesh and synthetic design aesthetic as the OG, but this time around, Salomon cut out a significant portion of the bulk, adding more breathability behind the mesh and cutting out half of the heel. Debuting in two colorways, the shoe will arrive in triple-black with silver hardware and a black and tan pair with matching silver hardware.

From the front, the ACS Pro Shell looks just like the ACS Pro, but upon closer look, the mesh is only backed by a light support in a few panels, with most of the mesh upper showing right through to your foot. The silhouette cuts everything out around the TPU rib structure on the side panels, lowering the profile and allowing even more airflow at the heel.
