The Paris Fashion Week heatwave is adding another coal to the flames. As we continue to get first-look previews of next year’s sneaker lineups from Saucony, Vans, Nike, adidas, and more, Jordan has been taking a subtler route. Instead of showrooms full of pairs popping up on social media, the brand has opted for an influencer-driven push, seeding upcoming pairs of 14s and 17s that have been seen around the city.
From Italy to Paris
The latest pairs of Jordan retros out of Paris arrive from just a train ride away, teaming up with Italian sneaker boutique Slam Jam for a two-pack of Air Jordan 8 Retro colorways in a suede take on jersey mesh that ends up looking like rain camo. The Slam Jam collabs both feature a monochrome makeup, one in grey and the other in black.
Both pairs of the Slam Jam x Air Jordan 8 Retro feature a full coat of suede with vertical slit perforations throughout in the same manner as old-school basketball jerseys. The tongue and heel stabilizer are the only sections of the upper that aren’t perforated, but the circular Jumpman tongue logo returns to the rain camo-style slices for continuity.
