Even inside a doctor's office, you’re probably not picking up physical magazines anymore. Instead, you’re doomscrolling on TikTok or Instagram to capture your attention, but back in the day, you had to flip through printed paper to consume the latest information. Shocking, I know. An OG in the basketball space dating back to 1994, SLAM Magazine has been documenting NBA players, their kicks, and the culture around both for over 30 years now, and they’re finally getting a retail-ready collab with The Swoosh.
SLAM x Nike Basketball Collab Collection
Sole Retriever previously reported on the fact that SLAM and Nike Basketball were cooking up a collection of sneakers, including the Sabrina 4, Ja 4, GT Cut 4, and Zoom Hyperflight, but SLAM has now officially unveiled images of the pack. The color orange anchors the whole collection as each pair features the shade in some manner, with the Cut 4, Hyperflight, and one half of the Ja 4 using it as the primary color.

On the Ja 4, Ja Morant’s latest signature model comes split between white and orange on the right and left shoe, respectively. Metallic hues are applied to the Swoosh and TPU JA-Frame, both of which also feature a SLAM graffiti print, and SLAM branding is added alongside Morant’s logo on the tongue.

For Sabrina Ionescu’s Nike Sabrina 4, SLAM employs a New York Liberty-friendly mint foam color scheme on most of the upper, which itself is covered in SLAM graffiti print graphics. Orange details appear on the “S” logo atop the tongue, the SLAM logo on the heel (which incorporates Sabrina’s “S”), and the lace set.

Moving to the GT Cut 4, we see the SLAM graffiti print rendered in orange on the lateral side of the upper, with the medial going for a stealthy black finish. More orange lands on the laces and portions of the midsole.

Finally, the Zoom Hyperflight, which was previously previewed by Nick De Paula, is coated in a glossy orange patent leather. Stabilizing TPU panels on the upper are done in black, while cement grey is used on the tongue, collar, and portions of the outsole. SLAM logos also appear on the tongue tag and SLAM’s “S” is present on the heel.
