Sotheby’s Sold Cooper Flagg’s Debut Rookie Jersey for $1 Million

NBA collectibles are big business. Sure, Pokémon cards are bringing in trust fund numbers, and grail sneakers are still going for unbelievable numbers, but lately, lots of new and archival pro basketball memorabilia have been popping up at major auction houses and bringing in incredible figures. The latest mind-melting sale kicks off Sotheby’s new NBA rookie auction with a bang, turning Cooper Flagg’s debut jersey into the highest-selling rookie jersey ever.

According to Sotheby’s, the famous auction house closed on a private sale for Cooper Flagg’s debut NBA rookie jersey last month, bringing in a whopping $1 million for the white and blue Dallas home jersey worn in the first half of Flagg’s first game this season on October 22, 2025.

“The $1 million result for Cooper Flagg’s rookie debut jersey is a powerful testament to the significance collectors place on true ‘first moments’ in sport,” Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s Head of Modern Collectibles, said. “This jersey captures the very beginning of a special career, one carrying huge expectations and excitement. As the Official Game Worn Source of the NBA, we’re thrilled to keep that energy going with our upcoming Rookie Debut Auction, giving collectors the chance to own the very first pieces of the league’s next big stars.”

In addition to the private sale for Flagg’s debut uniform, the Rookie Debut Auction will allow fans the opportunity to bid on game-worn debut jerseys from current rookies VJ Edgecomb, Kon Knueppel, Derik Queen, and Dylan Harper.
