The online resale market is getting faster. What started with constantly refreshing eBay auctions for days on end, with fear in your heart about potential last-second snipers lurking, evolved to immediate sales on sites like GOAT and StockX, paired with untimed bidding on sites like Grailed. And then Whatnot entered the picture. The live auction site connected buyers and sellers in a format familiar to the stream-obsessed, faster-than-instant-gratification generation and immediately changed the game.

A Direct Response to Whatnot

Now, to get in on the immediacy, StockX is introducing a new StockX Live program designed to integrate live auctions, giveaways, and finally break the barrier between buyers and sellers on the StockX platform. Like all purchases on StockX, the brand says that the Live sales will also be subject to the platform’s legit product guarantee.

“StockX Live is a natural extension of our platform — we’re meeting our customers where they are, in a format built for how they discover and buy the products they love,” said StockX CEO Greg Schwartz. “We’ve spent years building a scaled, trusted, and transparent marketplace, and now we’re bringing all of that into a live experience. I couldn’t be more excited to get this product in front of our community later this summer.”

We’ll Do It Live!

StockX is getting set to roll out the StockX Live function on its app and website later this summer, with an application process for sellers to participate in the program already open. To keep up with all the latest news from around the sneaker resale landscape, download the Sole Retriever App.
