The Whitaker Group, James Whitner’s boutique retail conglomerate that spans the American South and beyond, has been stretching its collaborative wings as wide as possible this year. From Jordan and Nike to a vast ongoing partnership with adidas, TWG has been able to stock the shelves at APB, A Ma Maniere, Jaide, and Social Status with endless collab colorways this summer. Now, Whitner and crew are adding yet another brand to their collab stable.
TWG’s Latest Collaborator Has Claws
The Whitaker Group x Puma CODA is the latest long-term collaboration from the retail giant. Taking its name from the world of music, CODA is “a multi-season storytelling platform rooted in legacy, sport, style, and cultural progression.” The Instagram video that debuts the collab features a pair of black and white Suedes and a plaid tracksuit, but as of now, the product offerings are still under wraps.
“Legacy is often viewed as a destination, but we believe it is a responsibility,” said James Whitner. “What we inherit is only part of the story. The greater challenge is determining what we build from it. CODA exists in that space. It is about honoring what came before while creating the conditions for what comes next.”
