In modern Hollywood, there isn’t a young superstar bigger than Timothée Chalamet. The Marty Supreme, Dune, and A Complete Unknown star is a New Yorker through and through, and has spent the past month imprinting himself on celebrity row at MSG during the Knicks' playoff run. But as we get closer to the World Cup, it looks like Timmy Tim might have his own jersey - and sneaker deal - on the way.
Like any Gen Z star, Chalamet is prone to posting photo dumps on Instagram, and in his latest scroll, Timmy spends multiple slides showing off pairs of adidas AE 1s and AE 2s, including a three-pack of gifted pairs, a video of Tim hooping at the Garden in Ant’s shoe, and an on-foot pic sitting in front of Tyler Kolek’s locker. In addition to the hoop shoes, he’s also been seen wearing Stan Smiths and Sambas recently.
Of course, a seeding pack doesn’t exactly indicate an inked deal in this day and age, but at the same time that Tim was getting shots up in Midtown, adidas was posting a new World Cup preview on Instagram with jerseys for the brand’s biggest soccer and celebrity signees, including Messi, Bad Bunny, Zidane, Beckham, and more, before reaching a jersey at the end with Chalamet printed on the back.
This morning, Timothée added another preview to the mix, posting a cinematic trailer for a new ad starring Chalomet, Bad Bunny, adidas' superstar soccer roster, and three random kids all linking up for some dramatic streetball action. The full ad is set to drop tomorrow, so look out for another Oscar-worthy performance.
As of now, the set of IG posts and his recent penchant for rocking The Three Stripes are all we have to indicate a potential Chalamet x adidas deal, but following the jersey post, we’re expecting more info about the potential partnership soon.
