The Vans heat isn’t slowing down. The originators of the skate shoe have brought back the vibes of the mid-2000s OTW era, when (W)Taps collabs reigned supreme on boutique shelves. Now, through artist partnerships and collabs with UNDERCOVER and more, the Off The Wall program is running things in the sneaker industry. Taking a bit of a victory lap, Vans is showing up at Paris Fashion Week with a plan.
Slip Onto the Runway
The Vans Classic Slip-On Paris Fashion Week Collection features pairs of the laceless canvas skate shoe hand-crafted by three different artists and designers, Mattias Gollin, Lorenzo Fioravanti, and Vanna Youngstein. The resulting pairs are ready for France to help debut a yet-to-be-seen collection with more design work from the three creatives.

Keeping with Gollin’s past work for Vans, the bead artist constructed two colorways of fully breaded Slip-Ons in white with star-shaped details all over the upper, in blue on one pair and red on the other. The Fioravanti colorway is titled Despair, and features an airbrushed image of a crying woman split across the two shoes. Finally, Youngstein’s pair adds a jersey design to the left shoe with the number 66 for Vans’ founding year (1966) and a multi-color floral design on the right shoe.
