Virgil Abloh is one of the greatest collaborators in sneaker history, and his expansive work with Nike and Jordan will go down as a driving force in the explosion of sneaker culture on a global scale. After his untimely passing, Abloh’s family founded the Virgil Abloh Archive and the Virgil Abloh Foundation to keep his memory and creative influence at the forefront of culture.

For its latest collab, Nike and the Virgil Abloh Archive are inviting the public to take a deep dive into Abloh’s world, bringing out 1,000 pieces from the archive for an NYC art show. The display includes a working recreation of his Paris office complete with a computer full of raw design files to explore and an exclusive gallery show merch collection curated by JJJJound founder Justin Saunders. This follows two previous “The Codes” exhibits, one in Miami back in 2022 and another in Paris in 2025.

“Bringing nearly 1,000 objects together at The Shed allows us to illuminate the depth of Virgil’s methodology and the relationships between seemingly disparate projects,” says Athiththan Selvendran, Chief Creative Officer, the Virgil Abloh Foundation, and Director, the Virgil Abloh Archive. “This is an opportunity to experience Virgil’s practice as an evolving framework — one that continues to inspire new ways of making, thinking, and creating access for others.”
