MLB City Connect 2026

While baseball is often viewed in the same light as golf, a stuffy old-time sport that lacks fun and creativity, there’s a new era of ball players in the league. Not only are the players willing to let loose, but teams are too, and the City Connect uniform program started by Nike in 2021 is a clear sign of this. Now, after getting a glimpse at the upcoming Air Max 1 City Connect for the San Diego Padres, and confirmation that seven other teams will join the Air Max 1 party, the 2026 MLB City Connect jerseys have finally dropped.

As with past City Connect collections, Nike and MLB draw inspiration from the deep history of each club, with teams this season including the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, and Texas Rangers. This marks the second City Connect edition done by all eight teams, with each working closely with The Swoosh to design a uni that spoke to their identity.

Below, we’ve included direct links to buy each of the uniforms from Dick’s Sporting Goods and have broken down the inspiration behind each design.

Atlanta Braves

The Braves took inspiration from Atlanta’s innovation and access. The team was the first major professional sports team in the South, but they had a nationwide following thanks to TBS broadcasting their games nationally in the ‘80s. Those powder blue unis are referenced here and remixed for the modern day, with 3D “ATLANTA BRAVES” placed on the jock tag, “ATL” block letters on the sleeve patch, and red piping defining the jersey.

Baltimore Orioles

Although Camden Yards looks like something straight out of the early days of the MLB, it was actually opened in 1992, and the classic-looking stadium inspires the Orioles City Connect jerseys for 2026. “BMORE” is written across the chest, with the Oriole Bird perched atop, and on the jock tag sits the historic 19th-century scoreboard clock found in the stadium.

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds were one of the first teams to get a City Connect uniform, and they’ve decided to continue the OG look with a refreshed look that incorporates the best elements from the first jersey. Subtle pinstripes are found on the design, done in a slightly darker red shade, while a classic “C” logo sits on the left chest, and the jersey number is found on the opposite side.

Kansas City Royals

Dubbed “Forever Fountains,” the new Kansas City Royals City Connect for 2026 celebrates the community that is defined by honor, resilience, and optimism. A gradient color treatment is applied to select parts of the design, including the updated “R” logo that nods to the Royals' OG design in 1969, and the piping on the sleeve. The gradient itself draws inspiration from the City of Fountains logo adopted by City Hall in 1991.

Milwaukee Brewers

Celebrating the entire Badger State, the Milwaukee Brewers City Connect jersey honors every aspect of life in the state of Wisconsin. The base color blue is inspired by the natural beauty and endless shorelines, lakes, and rivers in the state, while the cream accents recall the sandy shores of inland lakes, the sandstone bluffs, and the beaches of Door County on Lake Michigan. “WISCO” text, a revitalized Barrelman inspired by the American Association Brewers, and a full Wisconsin state outline patch, finish the look.

Pittsburgh Pirates

Pittsburgh Pirates City Connect

Embracing Pittsburgh's connection to the black and yellow look, the Pirates' new City Connect jersey is obviously done in the classic combo. A bold “PIRATES” wordmark on the chest in yellow mirrors the design of the “sister bridges,” while red accents pop off the black base, found on the bandana of the Jolly Roger and the mini Swoosh.

San Diego Padres

With the city being a melting pot of multicultural heritage, the San Diego Padres decided to honor the Hispanic culture with its new uniform. More specifically, Dia de los Muertos serves as the primary inspiration for the look of the City Connect uniforms. This includes a La Catrina patch on the sleeve. Other details include a marigold pattern trimming the sleeves and the braid on the bone-colored pants, the bone, obsidian, marigold, aqua, fireberry, and Padres gold colors used throughout, and the papel picado artwork.

Texas Rangers

Texas Rangers City Connect

Just as the Padres looked to Mexican culture for their City Connect, so too did the Texas Rangers. The new Rangers uni celebrates the team’s past as well as the Mexican influence found throughout the state of Texas. Cochineal red, a sacred crimson dye derived from the cochineal insect and deeply significant in Mexican culture, is used as the base, while the ‘80s style font used on the chest spells out “Tejas,” a word rooted in the Caddo language meaning friend. The state shape appears in papel picado on the sleeve, while the jock tag features “Viva Tejas.”
