Who could have thought we’d be five Toy Story films deep now? Upon the release of the first film in 1995, Toy Story was a groundbreaking showcase of 3D animation. Three decades later, and the series has shifted from a technical marvel that looked like it was “animated in Excel,” as one tweet perfectly put it, into a heartwrenching series about belonging and aching for a world that no longer exists.
At its core, Toy Story is about the unbreakable bonds and memories we forge and hold with us even in the face of the howling winds of change, even when they hold us back from seeing the good possibilities in the future. Can you tell my son and I just binged all four movies?
Ahead of the release of the long-awaited Toy Story 5, adidas and Foot Locker have unveiled official images of another collection of Toy Story-themed sneakers. The collection not only includes a trio of sneakers representing Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear but also matching apparel to take the outfit to infinity and beyond.

Much like how the film presents Woody and Buzz as diametrically opposed, the sneakers all take their approach to their character seriously and methodically. Woody and Jessie get his-and-hers remixes of the classic adidas Samba and Samba Jane, reflecting their simpler cowpoke nature, while Buzz gets the futuristic Adistar Control 5 as a nod to his legacy as a Space Ranger.

Toy Story x adidas Samba OG Woody
No snakes here. The adidas Samba Woody perfectly transplants the cowboy’s iconic look to the equally iconic silhouette. Denim takes over the upper with Woody’s signature yellow plaid appearing on the sockliner and Three Stripes branding. The suede on the toe echoes Woody’s boots, while the paisley pattern is a nod to his neckerchief. A lace dubrae inspired by his oversized belt buckle completes the look. Available in a full-family size run, the prices are set at $110 (adult), $90 (GS), $80 (PS), and $65 (TD).
Toy Story x adidas Samba Jane Jessie (W)
Jessie is brought to life with a women’s exclusive remix of the laceless adidas Samba Jane. The silhouette features a simple white leather base with denim accenting the Three Stripes to match her pants. The squiggly filigree on the midfoot strap is pulled from her shirt, and the cow print found on the toe matches Jessie’s chaps. The red heel with exposed stitching is representative of her hat. Arriving in a full-family size run, the price is set at $110 (adult), $90 (GS), $80 (PS), and $65 (TD).
Toy Story x adidas Adistar Control 5 Buzz Lightyear
I know the evil emperor Zurg is gonna be sick when he sees these Adistar Control 5s. Buzz Lightyear is officially the flyest member of Star Command with the tech runner flip. As you’d expect, Buzz’s colors are implemented throughout the silhouette with minimal green and purple accents dancing across the white mesh sneaker. Sticking the intergalactic landing are the red, green, and blue renditions of the Three Stripes to mimic Buzz’s wrist-mounted buttons. Dropping in a full-family size run the price is set at $130 (adult), $100 (GS), $75 (PS), and $65 (TD).
