The Demon Hunters may have introduced K-Pop to the American populace in the biggest wave yet, but the Korean groups aren’t the only dominant pop music force on the global scene. In Japan, J-Pop artists are crossing borders with speedy, high-pitched, upbeat earworms and bringing their personal brands to partnerships across the retail space.
J-Pop two-piece YOASOBI, made up of producer Ayase and vocalist Ikuta, are the latest artists to join forces with Asics, bringing two Japanese staples to the globe together. Adding a zipper tongue and looping extra pulley lace that circles the entire shoe and secures at the heel, the YOASOBI x Asics Gel-Kinetic Fluent arrives in three colors: Black, Silver, and Navy/Pink.
The Black and Silver colorways are simple but effective monochrome blends of synthetic, leather, and mesh, changing the color tone slightly between materials. The Navy/Pink pair adds dark blue to the base of the upper, splashing bright pink onto the side panel stripe logo, the laces, and small accents on the toe. On all three pairs, the added pulley lace is made of translucent plastic, with a YOASOBI hangtag next to the heel pulley.
The YOASOBI x Asics Gel-Kinetic Fluent collection will be released March 19, 2026 through Asics and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price on the pack is still TBD. For all the latest Asics collab news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
