The 2025-2026 NBA season could have one of the most exciting award seasons in quite some time. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the best team in the league, Victor Wembanyama has entered the chat, Nikola Jokic could end the season averaging a triple-double, and the Lakers’ superstar Luka Doncic is bringing the magic to Los Angeles. Out of all the top candidates, Doncic is leading the entire NBA in scoring, averaging a blistering 33 points a night.
The Slovenian shotmaker is also a top-flight passer, coming in at 3rd on assists for the season, quite a feat for someone sharing a bulk of their minutes with LeBron James. Doncic knows what has him hooping this season, and it is obviously his signature Jordan Luka 5. In a game against Western Conference rivals, the Houston Rockets, Luka scored a tough layup that sent him crashing to the floor. In the chaos, a fan in the crowd yelled out, “Nice shoes, Luka!” to which he immediately quipped, “Thanks, they’re mine!” Luka finished that game with 40 points, by the way.
The Jordan Luka 5 has been a star this year with a highlight reel of colorways, including a Lakers-inspired pair and a bright red Matador made for All-Star Weekend. Now, the sneaker is keeping a low profile while Luka keeps bringing the spotlight with a simple black and white colorway that gives off Reverse Taxi vibes.
The sneaker features a blend of materials, including a breathable black mesh base with white mesh on the heel and side panel cutouts. The silhouette is divided by its signature TPU support, done up in white for this iteration. Anchoring that support is a thin strip of white leather that wraps around the midfoot, and with black piping lining that leather. Tumbled black leather makes up the ankle collar to add a more premium look to the silhouette.
The Jordan Luka 5 is set to release in the Summer of 2026, but an exact date has yet to be announced. Releasing in men’s sizing, the Jordan Luka 5 Black White will retail at $135. For everything Jordan Brand and Luka Doncic, download the Sole Retriever app.
