It’s Air Max Month at Nike, and after a year packed with 95s, DN8s, golf-ready TNs, Beaverton is switching it up for 2026 with the help of longtime collaborator Hiroshi Fujiwara and his legendary fragment design label.

The fragment design x Nike Air Liquid Max is the first release-ready colorway of the new Air Max silhouette we’ve seen. The triple-black colorway brings all of the best fragment design motifs to the reptilian silhouette, mixing reinforced mesh and a scaly, armored overlay across the upper, with a lightning bolt logo on the tongue and “fragment concept testing” written in white across the back half of the lateral side panel. More product details are added to the Liquid Max pods on the midsole to complete the standard fragment look.

Underfoot, the Air Liquid Max takes design language from the DN8 and stretches it into a wide, bubbled midsole that looks a little bit like the pad of a gecko’s foot. Mini Swooshes in more tonal black are added in the middle of the side panels, and the insoles bring in fragment’s classic blue tone for more co-branded accents. The all-new point-loaded Air unit works in tandem with a Cushlon foam to create what Nike describes as the most comfortable Air Max model to date.
