Designers Hiroshi Fujiwara and Chris Gibbs are in rare air as Jordan Brand collaborators, with both their labels, fragment design and Union LA, having multiple projects with the Jumpman under their belt. Many would agree they have some of the most legendary colorways of the Air Jordan 1 ever made, including Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design x Air Jordan 1 from 2014 and Chris Gibbs’ Union x Air Jordan 1 Black Toe from 2018. These two collabs are doing their best Goku and Vegeta impression, fusing together while highlighting the best parts from both partnerships on a three-pack of fragment x Union x Jordan 1s.
After being rumored for the past year, the two designers unveiled the trio of Air Jordan 1 colorways in White Black, Sport Royal, and Chicago Royal that each melds a different pair of collaborations on one silhouette. While the other two colorways may be harder to obtain, the Chicago Royal colorway will receive a wider release later this month. The wait is coming to an end now that the collaboration is at full power with official images of the sneaker making their way online.
The silhouette starts off on a high note with a premium tumbled white leather base. Both the fragment design and Union Black Toe borrow colorblocking from the original Air Jordan 1 Black Toe, so those elements are non-negotiable for the triple collab. Black leather wraps the eyelets, toe, and the Swooshes, all of which feature Union’s distinctive golden piping to evoke a DIY feel. fragment’s signature shade of blue makes up the heel and outsole, with the brand’s logo embroidered near the heel of the shoe on the lateral side.
The instant classic adds a red collar to the look, affixed with white exposed zig-zag stitching. The technique, called the Urahara Stitch after the Tokyo neighborhood that served as a hotbed for streetwear in the 1990s, joins the two halves together. Other details include a black Air Jordan wings logo on the lateral ankle, product details printed on the pre-aged midsole, and a UN/LA tag attached to the lateral collar.
The fragment design x Union LA x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Chicago Royal will be released on February 27, 2026, via Nike SNKRS and select retailers. Retail is set at $205.
