The World Cup brings everyone out to celebrate the Global Game. Nike has been working overtime to honor the grand competition with new iterations and interpretations of some of the best boots to hit the pitch.

Not only have they been reviving older models for play, but with the new Cryoshot line, The Swoosh is taking some of the vaunted football boots and giving them a lifestyle remix that freezes the spikes in a clear midsole. It isn’t just Nike showing love to football; Jordan Brand is making kits for Brazil on the world stage and getting its own Cryoshot release.

Jordan x Cryoshot Mercurial Vapor 1 Details

Jordan Brand is giving its spin to the Cryoshot line with a remix of the Nike Mercurial Vapor famously worn by Cristiano Ronaldo early in his career in 2002. The model takes a bold red monochrome look with a smooth red leather upper while maintaining the Mercurial Vapor 1’s signature wavy lines debossed on the side panels. The Swoosh is dressed in a shaggy red suede.

Adding to the Jumpman flavor are the elephant print heel counter, golden lace tab, and the Mercurial-style tab that folds over to reveal a reflective 3M 23 as an homage to the Jordan 5. In addition to the heel counter inspired by the Jordan 3 and the tongue drawing from the Jordan 5, the icy midsole enshrines an image from the 1996 Frozen Moment commercial to really tie the theme together.
