“Achieving success is one thing; the real challenge is sustaining it.”
That’s BMX legend Nigel Sylvester’s message with his upcoming Air Jordan 4 Brick by Brick sequel, the Brick After Brick. Debuted in an Instagram video from Sylvester himself with confirmation of an upcoming release, this is the third time we’ve seen the shoe after Jordan was seen celebrating his recent Daytona win in a sample pair at Disney World and a model was spotted with the pair on feet in the original unveiling of his last AJ 4 project.
“It’s a wonderful day to talk sneakers,” Sylvester says in the video. “These 4s are the next chapter in the Bike Air Brick journey. This next chapter, the Brick After Brick, dives into the discipline and consistency it takes to sustain success while continuing to build.”
Sylvester continues with a clear description of the shoe itself: “Jumping into colorways and details, we did the entire upper in sail, 100% full-grain leather; top tier shit only....we even did brick inside the Air bubble.” Aside from the material and color palette swap, the sneaker features the same details found on the original Brick by Brick, including Bike Air on the heel tab, a mini Swoosh near the lateral toe, and Jordan Biking Co. branding on the inside of the tongue.
The box for the pair is turned into a clay brick, texture and all, with a rubber band and thick plastic bag protecting the shoes themselves, like a clay brick would be packaged for careful transport.
Sylvester made sure to note that the pair was dropping soon, but as of now, we are still waiting on a firm release date. The pair will retail for $230. To keep up with all the latest updates on the upcoming Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 Retro Brick After Brick, download the Sole Retriever App.
