After taking four months off to recover from injury, Carlos Alcaraz bounced back strongly in his comeback match at the US Open yesterday. He defeated Roman Safiullin in straight sets with a little help from someone outside of the tennis world, Travis Scott. Well, it’s not like Travis was coaching him or even his doubles partner, but La Flame did outfit the Spanish superstar in a special kit and Cactus Jack version of the Zoom Vapor 12 HC tennis shoe. After the match, Alcaraz swapped out of the tennis sneakers for a pair of the Ice Blue Travis Scott AF1s, which dropped yesterday at a special pop-up in NYC. Continuing the trend, Nike and Travis have just announced that the Zoom Vapor 12 HC is available at the pop-up.
The pair is done in a clean two-tone finish, with a creamy white engineered mesh used on most of the sneaker. This extends to the reinforced rubber on the toecap and the foam midsole, which extends up onto portions of the upper. Contrasting the cream white look are hits of chocolate brown throughout. Included is La Flame’s iconic reverse Swoosh detail on the lateral side, the Cactus Jack text on the tongue, the lace set, and the sockliner. Inside the tongue is the phrase “Haz magia Carltios,” which in English roughly translates to “Do your magic, Carlos.”
The Travis Scott x Nike Zoom Vapor 12 HC will be released today, September 1, 2026, at a special pop-up in NYC located at 47 Chrystie St. in NYC. The pair will then be released alongside the Ice Blue AF1 collab on September 4, 2026 via Travis Scott’s website.
